Option A: American government has often been referred to as an “experiment.” Is this label valid? What were some of the pitfalls of democracy the Founders encountered? What solutions were devised to combat these potential problems?
Option B: The Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation and fundamentally changed the structure and direction of U.S. government. Would the United States have been better off if the Articles of Confederation had simply been amended? What if the United States were governed by a confederacy with strong state governments and a national government with limited power?
