17 Unit Three Paper Topics

Option A: In the Federalist No. 10 Madison warned about the problem of factions.  Explain and relate Madison’s theory concerning factions to the current role of interest groups in American politics.  Address both the good and bad aspects of interest groups in the U.S. 

Option B: Discuss the American political party system.  Should the system be abolished altogether or reformed?  If so, what do you propose? Justify your argument.

Option C: Explain and discuss the role of money in American political elections. Make sure you identify specific legislation and/or occurrences.  Do not base your argument on hearsay or unsupported reasoning.  Be sure to mention specific campaign finance legislation.
