18 Culture Essay

Purpose: For this essay, we will practice our critical thinking and our inter-cultural appreciation by analyzing a culture, subculture, or sub-community.

Assignment:

Choose a culture, subculture, or sub-community to focus on. This can be either a culture that you are a member of or a culture you want to learn more about. You can choose few aspects of the culture, subculture, or sub-community to focus on. Please make sure to describe both material cultural aspects, like technology and tools, and symbolic cultural aspects, like values, norms, gestures and language.

This essay will require you to do research and cite sources. You will be required to cite a minimum of two sources in an APA format. The sociology textbook can count as one of your sources.

Your grade will reflect your understanding of the subject, and the use of sociological terminology and theories from your textbook.
