Module 4 contains the following content – all original by author or contained in the Lumen textbook.

Textbook Reading – Chapter 23

Discussion Forum:

This discussion will be based on the textbook reading for the chapter.  For your initial post in this discussion please answer the following questions: “What action or actions of Napoleon do you think were most responsible for his eventual defeat by the European coalition forces?  Used quotes from the textbook reading to support your answer.”

Initial posts must be at least 200 words in length and have at least one quote from the textbook.

After posting your initial post you are required to reply to at least one other student.  Replies must be at least 100 words in length and have at least one new quote from the textbook (not a quote you used in your initial post and not a quote that is in the post you are replying to).

All posts must be made by the deadline for the discussion forum to receive full credit.

Short Essay:

Submit your short essay for Module #4 here.  The question for this essay is: “According to the textbook reading, what made Napoleon such an effective military commander?  Also, how was he able to consolidate his own power in France and control so much of Europe for so long?”

This essay must be at least 500 words in length and have at least one quote from the textbook to receive full credit.
